The width of a wedding ring is, to a certain extent, a matter of personal preference.  Some widths will be more comfortable than others, very light or heavy rings might look out of proportion or feel awkward on fingers that are petite or large.   In general widths range from 2mm to 8mm, although they can be wider, the larger sizes normally worn by men.

As with the profile, the width should compliment the engagement ring - a similar shape and weight will look better when they are worn together.
